Explore the Diversity of Wood-Burning Pizza Ovens
Wood-burning ovens, often known as pizza ovens, are incredibly popular and come in various sizes and styles. They can generally be categorized into two types: small toaster oven styles that sit on the countertop and large masonry kits, usually specially ordered and expensive, requiring installation by a masonry crew. While both types are effective, they each have their drawbacks.
The Innovation
A friend approached us with a brilliant idea—to create a solid masonry pizza oven that is a single piece, allowing it to be placed on a countertop or any other hard surface without requiring installation by a masonry crew. However, this idea presented significant challenges.
Challenges of Traditional Materials
The Solution
Geopolymer Cement
After extensive research and experimentation, we discovered Geopolymer cement, a product that is more heat tolerant than refractory mortar while also being harder than concrete. This innovative material has allowed us to develop an oven that not only looks great on a countertop but also performs exceptionally well when installed in a traditional build.
Versatile Installation Options
In addition to standalone countertop installation, we also offer a set of beams that allow you to install our oven above our fireplace as part of the fireplace build. This provides flexibility in design and allows you to create a cohesive outdoor cooking and entertaining space.
